In Puppy Kindergarten we cover all the foundations for helping you
raise your new puppy. Socializing with other dogs and people is
critical for your puppy. We will also cover how to stop barking, biting,
jumping, potty training, grooming, wellness, and more! Finally, we will
start your puppy on some regular obedience, but most of that will come in the beginners class.
Dogs 5 months and older (7 week class for $75)
Beginners is our basic obedience class. You do not need to have taken the KPT class to join beginners. We will cover all of your obedience foundations such as: heeling, sit, down, stay, recalls, and more!
Prerequisite: Beginners (7 week class for $65)
Advanced beginners will continue to build upon what you learned in beginners. We will also introduce hand signals and a few new exercises. By the end of Advanced Beginners you should be close to working off leash!
Prerequisite: Advanced Beginners (7 week class for $65)
Novice class will be working to perfect everything you have learned so far. We will continue working on hand signals and work towards getting your dog off leash. A new command, 'Finish' will also be taught.
Therapy class will help prepare you for doing volunteer work around the community with your dog. We have equipment commonly found in hospitals and nursing homes to prepare your dog for working in those environments. We also provide the opportunity to test your dog to be Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Certified.
Prerequisite: Novice and instructor approval
In Open class you will be putting everything you have learned to the test and will be conducted completely off leash! You will also be working with dog dumbbells, jump equipment, and retrieving.
Prerequisite: Advanced Beginners
Our winter/spring sessions are located here at the F-M Dog Obedience School and will focus on retrieving, recalls, and making sure your dog doesn't chew the decoys or dummies . Summer/fall sessions are located at the Retriever Club and you will be working in the field. Advanced training is a must.
